What is Autograss

Autograss racing is one of the cheapest non contact motor sports which takes place on a 440 yard oval. The meetings take place all around the country at over 50 clubs and these can vary in size. The small club meetings can have 50+ cars attending, up to the large open meetings where over 500 cars take part over the weekend, with 3 heats for all the drivers and a final per class. The sport is broken down into 10 classes, 7 for saloons and 3 for purpose built chassis (Specials). There are then 4 classes for ladies which are a combination of the 10 main classes staggered around the track, although at the bigger meetings ladies are also run as 10 separate classes. Finally there are two classes for juniors who can race from 12 16 year old. As well as the NASA classes there are 2 club classes that are run to club rules and are limitations on NASA classes these are Stock Hatch (Class 6) and Formula 600 (Class 8).
